I've probably raised this before (ironically), but is there a quick way of checking whether a relevant thread already exists before I post my thoughts on, possibly, the same topic?
Thanks, Jenny
Laborious, but fastest way I've found:
Go to address bar at (probably) top of screen.
Add
&show=200
to address.
Press
Go
This gives you 200 thread titles on a page.
Then press
CTRL and F
together, and you get a box with
Find what
appears in the middle of the screen.
Type in your key word, and it'll allow you to find the next instance.

I was just typing much the same, Rosie, but you got there first.
Will just add that if there is a "&show=" already in the URL then you need to change that one.. it won't work if you just append another "&show=" on the end.
Hope you are well. {{{hugs}}} to you.

Thanks, Rosie and Jont, I've tried this and see how it works and will try to check first in future.
Jenny
Being totally thick I can't get this to work.
If I try to add I only get the refresh button, not a new route. What am I doing wrong?
Help

Rarebreed, not really sure what you mean by:
Maybe it'll be easier to do this by demonstration..
Suggest you copy the URL of the thread-list or thread-view you are interested in into a reply here.. (but change the "http" to "HTTP" after you pasted it).. then I will adjust it in the manner that you need.. then you ought to be able to see what's going on.

At the moment, the address bar on the page that has the thread titles is showing
I highlight it, go to the end of the line and add
&show=200
Then I click on
Go
It shows
Does that work?

Rosie's links should look like this:
HTTP://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mbarchers/F2693942&show=200
Also, you can press [return] while in the address bar as an alternative to pressing a [Go] button.
(Sorry to correct you, Rosie)

Why what did they look like that was different, jonty darling?

Rosie, sweetie, if you post URLs either by copying them from the address bar or as copied from a link then the DNA system will turn them into clickable links for you.
This is a good thing.. but makes it difficult for this kind of thread.
Luckily the DNA system only attempts to make a link from a URL if it starts with a lowercase HTTP.. so that's why I repasted your links with uppercase HTTP.
Hope that makes sense.. and answers the question I think you were asking!
Also hope you are well.

ps: if dealing with links etc.. it's *always* worth going via preview and checking that things are formatted correctly/the links work.
Thanks all, but nope, still in thicky land, as soon as I 'add on' and 'go' I get transported to Showtown and nothing to do with ML.
I need VERY basic if anyone can help
