Hello all
please can some kind person tell me how on earth, when replying to a message, I can include part of that message in the reply as a quote.
Try as I might I can't seem to work it out. Am I being obtuse? Answers on a postage stamp please!!

Hello, good evening and welcome, as somebody once said. You mean like this

?
You copy and paste the bit you want to quote, precede it with
and follow it with
.
Only you don't use [ and ], you use < and >. (I couldn't do that when I was explaining it or it would have come out as "precede it with
and follow it with Â
").

Thank you so much. You are a gentleman and a scholar Mr Frost!

Having read that three times before it sank in, I shall now attempt this tricky operation. Fingers crossed
I do hope this works... I have been trying to work out how to do this too.

Here goes...
I just thought of a name for a new, rather self-satisfied, radio game show - it would be called "Quote, Slash-quote".
Sorry.

Well, I for one am very self-satisfied that Reg has taught me the
business. It's all so easy when you know how.I shall be the first contestant on the show. Tee Hee
Blimey I've been trying to do this as well.

Oops - didn't work first time. Trying again...
Hello, Hello All
you need to type "quote" (minus the quote marks) inside each of those <> </> brackets or it doesn't work.

Thanks - I forgot to change over-write to insert, and lost it...I think I have the hang of it now. So its fourth time lucky!
Crickey, I knew how to do it, but now I am confused.

In case that was a call for help, Norma...
Example:
<QUOTE>this is the text in the quoted box</QUOTE>
But use lowercase "quote" instead of uppercase "QUOTE"
And, to be sure, the slash in the "</QUOTE>" is NOT a typo!
I'll now repeat the above example but using lowercase "quote"
<quote>this is the text in the quoted box</quote>
And also... I will use the [Preview] button to make sure it's what I expect. God only knows why others don't use that facility.
