Can someone please remind me where Daniel goes to school? He went to a public school paid for by his Hebden grandparents didn't he? We never seem to hear much about it or his friends there. At least Pip has Izzy.
I think it is the Cathedral School at Felpersham.
The one that Phillip wanted Phillipa to go to.
We don't know how Fat Dan gets there or, indeed, anything else about it.
bob
bob, we know there's a "school run" that Shula shares with someone in Grange Spinney, and I think it's one of her Stable girls: and Jill does some of the car journeys.
We've heard that he goes to Chess Club, and stayed over with a chess club friend to do homework together.
He told Neil he's happy to help with the pigs because "nothing happens on Sundays at home." But he is a solitary little chap.
Thanks both. How old is Daniel now? Never hear any mention of children do the dreaded SATS tests in Borsetshire (or did I miss it). Whatever you think of them, it is unlikely they would never be mentioned by parents with children of a certain age.
Is he still helping out with the milking, wherever it was he helped out. Ot was it Neil's pigs?

Lynda congratulated Daniel on Doing Well in his KS" SATs, I think.

Pip would have taken her KS3 SATs last week.
Lindy would have tried to encourage Fat Dan, but the goddess Shula wouldn't try to draw attention to her son's failings (or those of any member of her family). So I would guess that Daniel has not done too well in his SATs and Shula is keeping up appearences and sweeping the disgrace under the carpet as ever.
That would account for the silence then. If Pip was taking KS3 SATS, the Dopeys would have been oblivious to it.
To be fair (if I must) to the Dopeys, I completely ignored SATS as well, apart from some acknowledgement if they did well. You don't find out for a while I think. I told my children not to get flustered over them. Nothing hinged on the results as far as their personal education was concerned, they were only for the benefit of the dreaded league tables.
Don't blame anyone for ignoring SATs if the child is happy to go along with that approach, but no discussion at Brookfield about Pip's choice of GCSE subjects and how these choices could possibly impact on her future career?
Or maybe I am just bitter that the dopey duo and their children seem to go through all these school phases without it being worthy of comment, whilst Spoiler child No 3 has just gone through this process and after weeks of mind changing the choices were made (too much choice according to dad), only to be told weeks later that one of the courses will not be running after all.
I'd forgotten that GCSE choices followed hard upon SATS. Yes, they were the subject of debate, and I think earlier in the school year than this. Alevel choices had to be done by Easter of the previous school year if not earlier IIRC. Still, they would hardly have fitted that in at Brookfield what with all the tractor mending that was going on. Surprised Phil didn't want to check she was doing music though.

Of course not. She's destined for a future of cow management. It is, apparently, in the blood.
