This might be a strange question, since she is a Silent, but is Jessica The Falconer based on a real person? I ask because some years ago at our local Show, we had a falconry exhibition from a lady by the name of Jessica. I wouldn`t have thought there were too many lady falconers about, even in these liberated times, so I wondered if it could be the same one. In which case, my main claim to fame in ML could be that I have actually seen a Silent in RL!
Hi
There certainly used to be, in the Newent, Glos. area, a falconer by the name of Jessica or Jemima Parry-Jones.
Whether she was the model for TA perhaps Kerri can tell us.
She's not based on any specific falconer. I was to blame for her being female (I thought there might be the potential for jealousy from Elizabeth if Nigel was spending a lot of time with her but we never really took up that option) and I'm pretty sure I suggested her name too.
Jemima Parry-Jones is from Newent, penman. She is a wonderful lady and I believe a renown world expert on vultures. She was involved in a scheme that was interested in sky burials and the welfare of the vulures.
J trained me in the art of falconry,I now fly a hawk who rejoices in the name of Nigel!

Thanks, everyone. Coo - an answer from Mr Keri. Well, I`m still going to imagine her as `my` Jessica the Falconer.
Did you know that a jess is actually something used in falconry?
Did this play a part in your choice of name, Mr K?
I expect it did, subconsciously.
