Keri, what school are Brian and Jennifer thinking of for Ruairi? Have they already applied?
Also, is there even the remotest chance that we will hear at any time how Daniel and Jamie have got on in Year 7?
Thanks.
We were promised a SL featuring FFD's first year at Secondary, IIRC.
Draggers, Brian has already put Ruauri down for Sherborne, I'm sure of it.
Will he indeed last that long?
I cannot see him as a long term character somehow.
Don't know whether it's my natural denial instinct coming in because I don't want this SL, or whether I'm tuning in to something that IS there....
Probably the former, as everything that I don't want to happen, keeps happening!
I wouldn't be surprised, JoLean. However, it's a bit late to be putting a child down for any school for the autumn term. There is a possibility that Loxley Barratt is already full (legal limit on reception class size = 30, can't remember if this can be stretched on direction of appeals panel - huge palaver, anyway). St Peter's (private school considered for Daniel) and St Margaret's (Alice's old school, may take little boys) could also be full. Home education! After all, Jennifer has said yes to everything else, so why not?
Well done,Draggers! I have asked this so many times I think I may have got up Keri's hooter, but he did promise......................
Did Siobhan ask Brian to bring Ruairi up as a Catholic? Was this aspect ever mentioned? If so, is there a Catholic school near Ambridge?

Let's hope that Brian brings up Ruairi as a good little atheist.
>Keri, what school are Brian and Jennifer thinking of for Ruairi? Have they already applied?
They haven't yet, so as it's a future storyline I can't really comment on it.
We can but live in hope.
Right-o. Something to look forward to, then!
And Daniel?
I can't remember promising a story about his first year but if I did then it would have been in good faith. But sometimes other stories take priority and plans change.
OK.I'll stop banging on about it then, but a small mention would be nice!

Actually, we did have a small mention: we heard FFD goes to the chess club (and something about Shula being in a car pool with people who live in what is properly called Badgers' Leap).
Surely whilst Brine would want Myson to go to his almer mater, the ghost of his beloved Siobhan would want the child to go to an establishment based on the old faith.
Ampleforth anyone?

Hello, Keri. I am seeking reassurance that we are going to hear before long about the secondary school choices made by Sid, Kathy and Jamie on the one hand, and by Shula, Alistair and Daniel on the other hand. It must be a couple of years now since the one and only discussion we've ever heard about this to my knowledge, which revealed that Shula planned to send Daniel to the Cathedral School. I am an anorak when it comes to schools and I have been disappointed not to hear any more about this since. Hoping to get my fix soon, as independent schools send out their offer letters towards the end of February and state schools on 1st March.

It is coming up - not imminently, but in a couple of months.

When are we going to hear all about Daniel and Felpersham Cathedral School? After all the fuss Shula made about the place, there's been nothing about uniform/timetable/travel etc. let alone how his first day was. Even Ruth who never bothers much was concerned when Pip changed schools so surely it's massive for Shula.

I wonder if it is going to become a big issue some time soon? Otherwise there might have been a casual reference to him doing ok at his new school.

We were discussing this at today's monthly scriptmeeting. It will be reflected in due course.

I knew I'd seen this; thanks Rosie!
Did you miss this, Keri?
No, I saw it. I just didn't have anything to add to my earlier reply.
