I think the SWs have dealt with the current crisis brilliantly so far, some of the best topical inserts I can remember.

What I'd really like to know is how the script writing team are planning for the weeks ahead. It is possible that the current outbreak of f&m will be over very soon, and let's all hope so. But there is also a possibility that it will last for weeks even months.

It must be impossible to write scipts that deal with the stae of the outbreak several weeks in advance. So how is it done? I would guess that the next few weeks will include lots of inconseqential bits that can be easily cut out and re-written at short notice. But presumably there is the possibility of the W Midlands being hit and whole new episodes being necessary.

Strikes me as being a fair old nightmare both from a planning and a budgetary point of view.

(Send the OBN to the usual address btw).

Events in Ambridge would be so radically affected that we have basically just continued to write and record as planned, hoping that the outbreak is contained. (The recent easing of movement restrictions is a matter of hope and relief to us, as you might guess).

If the situation worsened, we'd have to go back to day-to-day reaction as we did during the previous outbreak.

Thank you Mr K. Let's hope you're not kept too busy then.

Indeed; for the script-writing team and more importantly, for farmers country-wide.

    Keeping all claws crossed.

yes, i'd like to add my congrats to the SW team. The topical inserts have been very well handled. Just the right level of concern. And very quick off the mark too, with sunday night's episode. So well done!
And yes, here's hoping it will be contained in Surrey...
