Mr Keri, now that you are back from Venice and assuming you have got swamp fever, is there any chance of the August Quiz appearing? It is now a third of the way through the month and yet July prevails in TA quizland. Any estimate as to when we can expect it? Susan has been seen to dust off some very old quiz books in the Village Shoppe; i'm sure you wouldn't want to be overshadowed by the gossip in that place.
It is actually written. A bit nip and tuck; I ran out of time before going away and had to do it while on leave, in between coming back from Venice and going to the Big Chill. But by then the chap who puts it on the site had gone on his own hols and the guy covering for him was rather up to his ears.
So, I feel your quizless pain, but would ask you to bear with us for a little longer.
The thought of being in Venice and having to write an Ambridge quiz fills me with compassion. Oh, the dedication...
1. When did the Am last burst its banks?
2. Are the horses of St Mark's in fact Brown Swiss?
3. Who's that red-haired woman ouside Florian's?
Perhaps you could set this as a Midummer Competition next year, Keri: Help setthe August Qui?
And code it!
The August quiz is now live. Sorry for the delay.

Thanks Mr Keri - Should be on the leaderboard in 24 hours.
BTW when you click on the "submit" button to put your name on the leaderboard, you get an error message. This has been happening for several months now, but from experience I know it has accepted the request. Any chance of getting this fixed, it may reduce the number of double hits.

Thanks, I'll ask someone to look at it.

Hello Mr Keri again. The title of this thread is still valid as the August Quiz is still there on the 5th September.
I know you must be a busy person, dreaming up new plots and having scriptwriters' meetings, but surely the quiz does not take that up that much time!
Any chance of a new quiz before the weekend?

Hm, it seems my normally foolproof reminder system has encountered a malfunction. I'll write a new set of questions tomorrow (although it might be next week before it actually appears).
Thanks for the nudge.

Hello Mr Keri.
I note you are on Jury Service and so I presume we can't expect the December Quiz until you are released. Two weeks seems to be a normal maximum.
I hope your service is more worthwhile than mine earlier this year. 3 days total in court on 2 cases and discharge halfway through the second week. One poor bloke was self employed and lost 2 weeks business for the pittance they pay, and was never picked to serve on any case. The court service needs to sort out themselves or they will loose the support of the public for what should be considered a civic duty one is pleased to do!
EG
Trouble is we can't really get out of it..
If they get complaints "the powers that be" will not accept any excuse to be discharged from service apart from very exceptional circumstances.
My own service last year was so shambolic we were starting to think it was one of those "cases for T.V." where they have a real jury and we were peeping around for the cameras.
The first week was rather frustrating - put on two cases that never actually made it into court. But the whole of the second week was taken up with a rape trial - ugh.
(and as you've probably noticed, I managed to get the December quiz up, albeit late)
