Dublin - and it is. The child actor lives there IIRC.
doesn't sound like any Dublin accent I have ever heard
Must admit I thought at first it didn't resemble Siobhan's accent which it was meant to but now I am beginning to detect traces of the Irish.
Mr Pocket, please read message 11 in this thread for a full answer to your point.
Of course, having been told already that the child is from Dublin, it might perhaps have been sensible and courteous (a) to have said thank you to Lady Macbeth for responding to your query and (b) if you still felt obliged to suggest that to you, a non-Irish listener not resident in Dublin, this six-year-old child born and bred in Dublin has an unusual Dublin accent, to have said so in a way that left you less open to finding yourself with egg all over your face as dozens of people with a better knowledge of the accent than you queue up to tell you that his accent is impeccable. However, I suppose that if you habitually pay no attention whatsoever to what other people say, as your posting record tends to suggest, these considerations wouldn't bother you.
if that sort of message gives you a buzz and if arrogance is what you do best, then I hope more people will feel sorry for you.
Mr P, I'd be interested as to what you think is an authentic Dublin accent. For example, I don't expect ever Londoner to talk like the cast of EastEnders, do you?
I can think of a number of different accents, all authentic Dublin ones. Perhaps you've never come across this particular one.

can't think of the name of anybody you and I, both, might know but The Shelbourne; where I have ever only stopped by "for the one" is teaming with them.

Perhaps if you got out and about a bit next time you're there rather than staying in a fancy hotel you might stumble across a native child. It would sound exactly like Ruari I assure you.
PS. When you say 'teaming with them ' is that rugby players perchance? I understand that when there is a match on the Shelbourne is teeming with supporters.
The Shelbourne?
There's was me thinking it might be the accent of the Moore St traders Mr P had in mind.
There's a certain Dublin accent known as "West Brit" which was well known to me when a student at TCD. Many speakers would have frequented The Shelbourne, perhaps that's the people Mr P knows....!

I did say it was just for the one; so don't be telling me that kind of thing when you next take the trouble to think about it
just back from having a foot redressed by our Heavenly practice nurse (from Cork) - she say you are absolutely right about different Dublin accents
