When I read the synopses (I often miss the programme) I have to go back and forth choosing consecutive days. Couldn't we just have a link on the Monday synopsis that takes us to Tuesday and so on?
Thanks
this is an ongoing grouch. i find the lowfield summarries far more helpful.
Thanks for this Rosie. Far more non-listener-friendly that the official one!
That's a good idea. We have a site redsign coming up and I'll add that to the list.
Have you got the /The/ for Discuss the Archers on that list Keri? That's an easy one really, isn't it?
Plus threading, time order (contd p94).
Yes please, Keri, can I second Cath’s request for time threading order. Whenever I have a day off, I like to read through most of the current threads in the morning, then return later in the day to see what has been added since. This usually means revisiting all the threads again and reading lots of posts that I have already read, until I finally get to the new posts for that thread.
There used to be a means of looking at posts in time order which was really useful when you were coming back to the boards later in the day to see what had been added in the hour or two since you last looked. That facility disappeared when the boards were given their makeover a year or so ago. It would be great to be able to do that again.
Thanks in anticipation
Mrs F
I'm told that we could have time order, but that it would be the only option, rather than being able to switch between "thread order" as we have now and time order. Until we could have both I fear it's not going to be feasible.
By the way, the site redesign is mainly of the main site, not the message board, although I expect that will undergo a cosmetic change to be consistent with the main site.
Time order and thread order are just two different queries performed on the same database - in principle there's nothing to have two separate "sets of boards" with subtly different URLs pointing at the same database, so those using time order would bookmark one URL and those preferring thread order would bookmark the other...
You could bookmark both of them, though?
Yup.
