Apropos a convo in a DtA thread, HugoB has just referred to an early appearance of real children's voices on air being of the really quite young Brenda and the Grundy boys playing in an empty house in the village, possibly in Peggy's cottage.
I recollect the same incident, but had thought - probably in error - the annex at Nightingale Farm, during Mrs. A.'s time.
IIRC didn't one of them get stuck or locked in? Was it an empty house on the green? Whose house was it?
Many thanks, MG

It was Helen and Kate who imprisoned Will Grundy in Blossom Hill Cottage after Peggy had vacated it, iirc. Hence the "Blossom Hill Gang".

LoL - thanks Mike, well I guess "1 out of 3 ain't bad" (indeed - 1/3 is miserable!). Knew someone would know instantly.
Mustafa, IIRC that was when they found Peggy's old love letters from her American wartime beau, and so they wrote to him pretending to be Peggy.

Good grief - had forgotten that - what an amazing memory you have, Alma! Didn't that result in Peggy's old beau subsequently coming over to visit?

Coonn Kortchmar of the Zippo lighter.
I think it was only Kate who locked William in the attic, went off in her boyfriend (Brett? Warren?)'s stolen car and forgot him, and rang up Helen to go and let him out.
Yes, Mustafa, he did come over to visit. Jack was a bit jealous, but it was all very innocent. IIRC the American, whose name I don't remember, was married himself, or had been.
BTW Blossom Hill Cottage isn't on the Green. It's where Usha lives now - and I remember racist Peggy being very doubtful about selling it to her.
Alma.
I see on rereading Rosie's post that she does remember the man's name!

Y'all never cease to impress me! My thanks, everyone.
Conn Kortchmar, whoops, sorry for the extra 'o' my keyboard is sticking.
IIRC - can't work out what this stands for help please.
Thank you

= If I recall correctly.
I know what you mean about it being difficult to work out, but it's very useful once you know it, given that few of us have perfect memories!
(I thought Rosie was imitating a drawl with the extra O! ;o) )
Alma.
