What's the difference? When I look at my list of discussions there is now an option to look at my comments (empty).
comments is something to do with stuff posted in H2G2 rather than on messageboards, apparently

Nope, Leggsy; Comments are things posted on the bottoms of the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú's "static" (i.e. non-DNA) web pages. There's a full explanation somewhere but I can't be bothered looking for it just now.
I've no idea what DNA is (so therefore non DNA also). Peta said (don't spit, she's nice!!!!!) that a 606 music board input would show up as a comment (for example). I guess a 'message' on Have Your Say would show as a 'comment' rather than a 'discussion'.
It would be quite nice to have a list of what shows where, for the next time someone asks.

DNA is the system that the Archers board and h2g2 run on, amongst others. It was named after Douglas Noel Adams.
Hello Peet, thanks, is DNA what ALL the message boards and HYS run on - even all those 606 thingys? Everything that *we* can comment on?
And then the rest of the website, news pages etc are non DNA?
Ta.

Not /all/ the "606" thingies; they have a mix of message board pages (DNA) and static pages (non-DNA) but in essence that's it, yes.
Thanks Peet, if I've understood the essence I'm quite happy with that. I'd really just like to have a decent *basic* understanding. The last time I had work dealings with computers it was VDUs and mainframes! :D
