If I miss Friday's episode, there is no opportunity of hearing a repeat unless I hear the omnibus on Sunday am, which I can't unless I take a radio to Church!!
Is there any chance of s repeat on Saturday lunchtime?

I think I remember a thread a few weeks ago when Mr K. said a Saturday repeat is impossible because there is nowhere in the R4 schedule to shoehorn it in. Similarly a Saturday evening episode.

Not impossible exactly, but R4 hasn't yet wanted to change the Saturday scedule to that extent.

cheekybrenda - could I recommend the podcast? You don't need an iPod or other mp3 player - just a computer.

you're right, this is really rubbish and has only happened since they insisted on bringing in the sunday episode. for some of us addicts we do actually need a couple of "clean" days over the weekend. friday episode has just become all the more precious because i prefer not to have to ruin a sunday morning listening a second or third time to episodes while washing up for over an hour ... never really been an omnibus fan, more of a little and often person. Annoyingly, Friday is also the night that some of us who DO have lives might actually NOT be home at 7.02 pm.
Get rid of the Sunday episode and bring back Monday lunchtime repeats, I say.

I am in the same position. I started a new job this year which means that I work shifts and work at the weekend and I also go to church on Sunday when I am at home.
The only thing I can say is that I do use the listen again feature. If it wasn,t for this I would miss lots of episodes.
I find it hard to believe that the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú cannot find another slot for a repeat of Friday's episode. If there is no space on R4 then why not repeat the Archers on Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú7?

To listen to 7 on the radio one needs a digital radio. Lots of people don't have these. Even more people can not access digital radio because of where they live. Reception in Britain is a bit hit and miss.

Is there no way you could get it taped?
(I'm old fashioned and still have a cassette / radio)

As everyone on this thread appears to know how to use a computer, I really would recommending Listen Again via the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú iPlayer (Radio Player as was), or accessing the podcast (mp3 player not required). You can then listen when it suits you.

Not all that old-fashioned! I recently bought a NEW one, as I've so many bloomin' cassettes, which I'd like to put onto CD, via the 'pooter, but I'm not sure what sort of lead I'd need. Any suggestions? Why don't they do CDwriters in their posh units? Silly people.

    There are some that do:
actually it converts to mp3 which you can then burn to cd.

Also there were some articles in the Telegraph on this subject last year:

Would you mind giving the whole of this URL? I tried it but the 'server couldn't be found'. I copied many of the Telegraph's Boot Camp articles, which are 'everso' useful.
    thanks for your help. Dig.

I did, and it did. Where did I go wrong the first time? I admit to cutting and pasting rather than clicking, but could that have made the difference, d'you think? Not important, however, but one does like to know!!

HicDig, that would have been the problem. The Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú only show the first few characters of a link, to stop it from "stretching the page", but you get all the characters when you click on it. smiley - smiley

    ("Young"? That's a relative term. I'm 45 and bald... ;-D)

Young to me. I don't remember 45. Is it fun? Glad we (we?) have the answer!! Don't leave the country. I may be back.
