For norty people.
Posted by Peta on the bbc.co.uk board.
Please note that if you've been pre-moderated by the moderators for breaking the house rules, the restriction on your account will lift after a specific amount of time - either after one day, one week, two weeks or a month.
If you have been pre-moderated, please don't post into this discussion or email into the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú, or use the alert button to try to contact the mods; the pre-mod of your account will automatically lift after the specified amount of time, so just do your time and wait for it to lift - it will do, if you stick to the house rules.Â
believe that when i see it!
Mr Keri please, I have copied this from the Today board. Does this apply across all the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú boards and how long is 'a set period of time'.
Dear members,During a messageboard software upgrade yesterday a change was made to the way users are premoderated. This change will mean that premod restrictions on accounts will lift automatically after a set period of time, rather than this having to be done manually.Â
Norma
So our posts are not actually going to be read to see if we are fit to post, but just based on time. A new poster, presumably, can come on, post once and after 'a set period of time' will be out of pre-mod.
Have I misunderstood, or if not, what is the point of that?
Norma, it's not to do with newbie premod, it's for posters who have been put into premod for breaking the House Rules.
The quote in message 1 explains it.
Ah, thank you. Yes that makes sense, apart from pre-modding not making sense. At all.

Is this like being 'out of nid' when playing Mornington Crescent?
Two weeks down - how much longer to go?

Does the "set amount of time" depend on the seriousness of the breach of house rules?
So I write "poo" I might be pre-modded for a few hours, but if in the case of an outrageous racist comment I might get a couple of weeks?
Alejandrita,
I guess so, although you'll probably have to say 'poo' more than once.
There is also a *permanent* premod, where the host has the final say so.
Flytie
I hope not. Premod gets a bit boring, especially if you've done your best to stay within the house rules for a while in the (maybe vain) hope that one day you will get released
Messages 2 and 4.
thanks for that link and direction to the relevant posts.
It's hard to 'join in with conversations' though when you have to wairt up to an hour before your innocuous posts are released.
I will put my hands up to being a naughty rule breaking poster which got me put into what seems like permanent premod but I've been trying very hard since these new premod release categories were started - just have to wait and see (and keep behaving myself) I suppose

Three weeks, still in premod, lookslike it's at least a week to go!
I still say that I'll believe it when I see it!
I now believe it. Thank you.
I'll try very hard to be a good boy from now on.
