If there was a prize for most obvious absentee, then Ian would walk off with it. He's been much talked about, but he's not said a single word for ages. (It must be 2 months at least!) Is Adam still being loved and supported at home? Did Ian enjoy having Rory to stay? What does he think about Brian's little prejudices? He was friendly with Owen. How does he feel about another old acquaintance turning out to be a devil in disguise?

He's becoming as difficult to get hold of as Tamsin Greig. Since Debbie is in Hungary, it doesn't matter so much, but Ian is an Ambridge resident. He NEEDS a voice!

Both Ian and Debbie are sorely needed by the current Home Farm SL. And it's Adam and Ian's first anniversary coming up.

Ian, please come back. We miss you.

Some of us are even beginning to wonder if Ian should be recast, but I hope that's not necessary. Steve and Andy are perfect together.

And he always falls throught the branches of Family Trees. That's twice I've had to pencil him into Who's Who? Gets a good write up though.

And when IS Ian's birthday? He's always baking cakes for family parties, but he never manages to celebrate his own. Even Adam doesn't seem to know.

Yes, seconded, there are quite a few of us who are wondering if and when Stephen K. is coming back.

It is JUST as obvious that Mel and meriel are not present - just as glaringly obvious that Lilian's first husband has been airbrushed out, it's not just Ian.

Similarly Grace. You'd have thought at least Joe or Eddie might have mentioned her at the party.

Something like, "Well it's an ill wind Phil, this could never have happened if the first Mrs Archer hadn't been burned to death".

And then there's the little matter of Harry Booker.

The difference being that Mel & Meriel are NOT living in Ambridge. Same for Debbie, Kate, Lucas etc. I explained this above.

Stirchley, we need not have worried. Both S.K. and Ian are coming back. : )

Wherever they live, they are ALL part of the family.

Just because Ian lives in Ambridge does NOT make him more glaringly obviously absent than longer existing members of the family.

    >>The difference being that Mel & Meriel are NOT living in Ambridge.<<

What a strange way of thinking. So because I've been living abroad for the past six years, I'm not as much a member of my family as my brother is? Weird.

You have misunderstood me, Rosie & Virgo.

1 Those characters who are away from Ambridge like Debbie and Kate, Mel & Meriel are not going to speak. (At least not regularly.) Therefore it is not strange that they are not speaking.

2 I am a fan of Ian and therefore I will miss him if he isn't speaking. Others have missed him too. (See Adam's Angels thread)

    3. There have been a number of SLs where Ian could have spoken. (See Msg 1)

4 And I did NOT imply that Ian is the ONLY absentee.

I'm sorry Growly, I did misunderstand you. I thought the main problem you were pointing to was Ian's absence from the tree, but now I realise you meant that he hadn't spoken for a while.

Once the tree is corrected, we won't have these misunderstandings. smiley - smiley

That's okay. Just glad it's cleared up. Lots of activity on "Angels" in my absence. Now we can all look forward to Ian coming back, love him or hate him. Ian is... irrepressible.

    Well, 4

If there was a prize for most obvious absentee, then Ian would walk off with it.  suggests that you think he is Most Important Absentee.and
And he always falls throught the branches of Family Trees. That's twice I've had to pencil him into Who's Who?

Well, yes. Important to me, that is.

The first part of the message concerning S.K. was transplanted from TBU. The bit about the tree was just an observation, based on the fact that I penciled him into Who's Who 07 and Who's Who 08.

We were just speaking at cross purposes. It wasn't until I read Virgo's post that I understood what had happened.

Lilian's first husband was Lester Nicholson.

He was gorgeous. Too good to live.
