I noticed in the last few days that I seemed to be acquiring extra threads in "Your discussions" which I have never contributed to, nor subscribed to. For example, this morning I deleted all threads in "Your discussions" and when I returned to the MB just now I discover that I'm subscribed to 5 threads, despite never even reading the MB. What is going on?

Are they all from the same sub-board (eg: The Bull)?
If so, are you sure you haven't subscribed to the whole sub-board using the script?
If you think that that might be the case then simply unsubscribe using the red [unsubscribe] link on the sub-board.. then see if it continues.

Thanks, jont. I probably accidentally clicked "subscribe". Let's hope that all those reminders of Duncan's threads and the Alice Fan Club now disappear.

Remember you can disable that feature from sub-boards(*) using the [Config]
(* referred to as "thread-lists" in the help and config)
The things that are currently in your list will stay there until you unsubscribe from them.

Also hope you are (both) well.

Side note:
Oh bums.. I've only just noticed that I spelt "crumbtrail" wrong. Why didn't anyone tell me?!

Whilst we are chatting, how do I put comments under 'Norma's comments' and has anyone ever put anything under their own comments.

Found two (of many) threads on this subject:
2nd contains a link where Peta (allegedly) explains it.
