Can anyone tell me why the message board goes too wide for my screen sometimes (when its converting to the Script according to Jont) with no scroll across facility?
It's only occasionally, but it's annoying as I can't read the messages in full
Thanks

Oh.. just noticed your
I see no reason why you shouldn't have a horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the window when that happens.
What browser & operating system are you using.. and can you point me to a specific thread where you see this?

Thanks for the link Jont, I'll know what to do next time
The scroll-bar bit only happened a couple of times so I'm not too worried about it, especially if plan A solves the problem, but if it gets unmanageable I'll get back to you
Thanks again

Ok, but you really *should* have a scroll bar when this happens.
If you don't get a scroll bar then there is possibly something wrong with your browser (or a conflict between the script and the a browser add-on or something).

Hmm
Guess its a case of making assumptions here!
When I was on 'widescreen' I /was/ able to scroll across on some messages, but on returning to the normal script after my last post I now find that there is no horizontal scroll at all!
I'm really ignorant Jont and not sure what Browser/server etc I'm on (except Windows XP and Firefox but I don't suppose thats what you mean)so not much help to you there

Yet you managed to give me the exact information I asked for!
XP is your operating system.
Firefox is your browser.
I have to say though, that I am struggling to extract meaning from your:
Do you mean:
- that when a thread had been widened (by a long piece of text) that you *did* have a scroll-bar all along - and *were* able to scroll sideways to see the text (even if it's awkward to read)? This is expected and correct behaviour (even if annoying).
- and that when you went to another thread (that hadn't been widened with a long text) that the scroll-bar disappeared completely? (this is normal behaviour.. the scroll-bar will (in this case) only be visible if it's needed).

It would appear that we are communicating perfectly well jont, you gave me the precise information I needed, I think I had just become a little paranoiac as to what the norm is
Thank you so much
Have one on me in the Bull
