I Probably missed a huge story line but. Where's Mrs Antrobus? She hasn't shuffled off her mortal has she?! I was only thinking about her this morning as I'm feeling pretty clsoe to death myself!
She is in the Laurels Home for the Bewildered. There were references to her at Christmas, I seem recall. Maybe she came to church ...
THanks Colin,
So she's just bewildered, not jiving with Jesus.
That's alright then.
If I heard correctly, Joe mentioned Mrs A. when he was talking to the Prof., (the constant irritant to Shula). It was in connection with the Laurels. Mrs Antrobus unfortunately falls into the category of Ambridge residents who are spoken of, and rarely, if ever, actually heard in person.
I know that Mrs A had dogs and they caused a bit of aggro but that was ages ago. What did Mrs A do? Or was she a bit like 'God', She just is, or was.

What did Mrs A do?Â
She was an army wife/widow so she didn't actually do anything. She presumably lived on Teddy's army pension and a small private income.

Mrs. A bred dogs.
She did have a vast private income, but Cameron Fraser cheated her out of it.

She had a sideline in other radio plays outside the enclave, something very few of the other characters have ever achieved.

Joe Grundy used to be in R4 plays quite regularly but I haven't heard him in one for ages. He was in a Wallace and Grommit film though.

Ah, but "Mrs A." was playing essentially the same character. ("The Dog Woman" - she kept shouting "Portia! No!" in a sort of portent of Harry Enfield...)

Well Joe played himself in Wallace and Grommit, even looked fairly like my idea of him.

Didn't Joe (the current one) also play himself in the "James Herriot" coffee ads?

The plot thickens and Mrs Antrobus eventually becomes Mr Bond, "You expect me to talk?"
"No Mrs Antrobus, we expect you to plough!! Ha ha ha!"
"what about operation shet ashide?"
"Merely some words you may have over heard Mrs Antrobus"
"Can you afford to take that rishk?"
Brilliant! I think, now that the dear old girl has been placed on silent mode, she should be a source of misery. Making allegations etc. "Wilyam minced me afghan an passed it off as a Leon Berger! Kids today!" ....Sorry guys, that was just silly. Drugs eh? JUST say No!...guess I'm weak. Good night!
