When Cathy saw Taylor in the village last week and Kenton phoned the police, the only detail that came back was that Taylor's mother said that her son was at her home in Gloucester.
What was not mentioned was did the police check that his mother's statement was correct, as if he was in Ambridge, he couldn't possibly be at his mother's home in Gloucester.
Of course he has appeared again and Elizabeth has rescued Jamie from his clutches as he was trying to get into the cottage to catch out Cathy. The police in Gloucester are now going to check his mother's house, meanwhile tracking him down in or near Ambridge.
This is a very interesting factor that seems to have been missed last week.

It's only just occurred to me, but I'm sure I'm not the first one, is one of the SWs a Beatrix Potter fan?

While we're on the subject of where OK/Taylor is when he says he isn't, and vice versa, how is he travelling between Ambridge and Gloucester?
If he's able to flit, he can't be using public transport. Either his mother is lying on his behalf (in providing him with an alibi) or he's deceiving her ('I'll be in the garden shed; dismantling, servicing and reassembling that lawnmower is a big job to while away these winter evenings cont p94').
So where was his car, or moped*, parked?
* this is because it's what he does while he's lurking and stalking

I dont think he is. He has made his way to Ambridge, and does not plan to move on until...

So where was his car ... parked?Â
'I spent the night in the car' said OK/Taylor. So four wheels good, eh? Just as well we're in a mild spell and maybe someone did notice an unfamiliar car with steamed up windows.
I wonder what his mother will tell the police this time, when they check whether he was home last night? Just asking rhetorically, this is a DTA matter now
maybe someone did notice an unfamiliar car with steamed up windows
they would have just smiled to themselves and passed by thinking it was Squire Aldridge doing a bit more extra curricular shagging
oo-er! I work in a school, and never noticed shagging was on the curriculum before! I shall quite look forward to Monday mornings in future......sorry, off topic.
