This came up in DTA - does Will pay rent and/or utility bills for Casa Nuevo?
As the cottage comes with the job, does this imply it is "for free" (or strictly speaking part of the salary I guess).
If not, could they consider moving to somewhere less isolated?
I would have thought the point is that Will needs to be near the birds etc to do his job, hence the cottage, hence why it should be rent-free?

It is part of his salary/benefits package and so rent-free. I'm not certain but I would have thought that he would have to pay utility bills, council tax etc.
