How difficult can it be to check facts? On Monday January 7th - the day after Epiphany - 'The Archers' featured 'Plough Monday'. There is a real Plough Sunday: it is, always, on the first Sunday AFTER Epiphany, and the secular 'Plough Monday' is the day after that. (Ploughmen would tour the village asking for tips.)That, this year, would have been January 14th. All the writer or producer need have done was check a dictionary to avoid the impression, yet again, that the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú doesn't give a hoot about real lives.

A quick Google leads to many sites about the history of 'Plough Monday', all of which state it is celebrated on 'the first Monday after 12th night'.

It would seem that The Archers and many others throughout the UK held events on 7th January 2008.

And a quick glance at Archers publications show that Plough Monday has been celebrated since at least 1984, in Ambridge and Penny Hasset on the first Monday after 12th Night.
