I'm becoming quite frustrated by my posts not appearing straight away. When I see that someone is posting at the same time as me it would be great if I could get involved in a discussion with them in real time. Is it the length of membership or the number of posts that counts most so I know what I need to do to be able to have proper member status. Thanks, Mrs P.

Number of posts.
Go over to The Bull (TB) & post on the newbies & snorkers thread a few times.
Have a drink on my tab - welcome!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, it has been done! I think the snowballs helped.

Why thank you.
Can anyone given me an idea of how many posts I need to do for this to happen? I'm not sure how many I've done already but is it less than 100, 1000, 10,000?

See what I mean? I sent message 5 over an hour ago and it's just turned up which makes it look ludicrous.
No more worries like that for me from today though!
Time to celebrate, snowballs all round please barperson.

Hi Mrs_ P_
It takes quite a few posts to get un modded.
Suggest you just keep going in The Bull's snorkers and newbies. Your posts won't appear straight away but our friends who play over there will keep up with you. After a few get through you'll find they get quicker and quicker until you see it on straight away. I joined up years ago before modding came in but a friend came in recently and had a 'fun time' from what I was told.

Ooh it's OK now and thanks for all your help but I was 'unmodded' soon after starting this thread.
I am over the moon about it as I'm sure everyone is when it happens to them.

I was just wondering that. How many posts did it take you Mrs P?

I think the magic number is somewhere between 20 and 25 posts, that's what it took me anyway...

Is that all? I've just been told 100. I wish I'd kept count now. I will keep count from now on.

Over 100 now and still nothing. Is it something I said?

I am very new, and didn't read the pre-mod notice, so I posted the same answer to a question twice !
It is frustrating,(especially when you are as old as I am). at this rate I shall have keeled over before they appear.
Ihave listened to 'The Archers' since it began. My bedtime used to follow the broadcast, which in those days ran from 6.45 to 7.00.
The Omnibus was on Saturday evening, which I listened to after my weekly(Yes truly, it was only weekly) bath and hair wash.
I used to enjoy the intro by Tom Forrest, which included lots of little country notes and observations.
any others have early listening memories to share?

When I joined I fired off as many posts as I could on the assumption there was a target figure. I also kept the posts free of anything someone of a delicate disposition might find offensive.Keep your nose clean for a while and, once in, you can relax a bit.

HAHAHA..you are having a laugh aren't patriachou?
In case bad food, no heating and shoddy clothes did not keep the children of the 50s sufficiently demoralized they gave Uncle Tom's Tedious Talks as Entertainment with a song..'The old Village Pump Pump Pump' as a treat on highdays and holidays. Some of my peer group are still in therapy. mm

I don't believe the admittedly awful songs were part of the talk, it was more alon the nature notes as I recall. However, as I am now a counselor, maybe you have a point metro-mouse!

My grandmother swore never to listen to the Archers again after the death of Grace Archer. In fact it was one of the earliest memories of my life.
I don't know whether it's another urban myth, but the story goes that Guildford Council arranged a collection for a wreath to be sent (I so want that one to be true).
