There have been a couple of passing mentions of Nelson Gabriel's antiques shop in DTA over the last few days. One was in the context of Kenton buying in, and one in the context of Debbie buying in.

This enterprise is before my time. Could someone please fill me in? Were Kenton and Debbie partners? What happened to it in the end?

    Cheers,

Both Kenton and Debbie were partners with Nelson (at different times). As such they both had to invest some money in the business but I think neither received much return from their investment ...

Ah, now I thought Debs worked /for/ Nelson, ("the best antique dealer ever!" having been Sid's "the best barmaid ever!") and he wanted her to buy into the partnership, but although she got Roger to agree to lend her £190,000, Roger wouldn't act as gaurantor fo the rest of the investment, so the deal fel through. Debbie went back to Home Farm to do what she does best (sulk): and was "found little jobs" which stretched out into full time work, and promoted her, in about 6 months, to be "the best farmer ever!"

Kenton was advance his share of the possible Brookfield inheritance to buy into the business and became Nelson's partner, deffo.

Wasn't Kenton also advanced his share of the Brookfield inheritance to buy (a share in) a boat to do tours of the Great Barrier Reef?

Don't think so, but he was advanced a share to pay off his masssive tax debts (and some debts to Mel).
