Query re: Siobhan's will

  I apologise if a) these questions have been asked before and b) if I have misspelt Siobhan's name.
  
  My questions are:
  1)As Siobhan was divorced from Tim Hathaway surely she got a settlement from him or at least a share in the proceeds of selling the house they lived in on the Green?
  2) Did she leave a will and if so does this not leave everything, or almost everything, to her son?
  3) Under those circumstances why is Brian making such a fuss and why has no one else in the family referred to it?

  I don't think the divorce settlement has ever been mentioned on air but there is no reason (imo) to think it made her a wealthy woman, that she had much, beyond a few keepsakes to leave to Ruairi and that it was worth mentioning.
  
  They hadn't lived in Honeysuckle cottage more than a few years and since they would certainly have had a mortgage they wouldn't have had much to divide after paying it off. Then it is quite likely that she used all the available money moving to Germany and setting up her translation business.
  
  Quite likely she would have been quite hard up rather than having money to leave to her son.

  Brian was paying maintenance, but of course they never tell us how much. Enough for Siobhan to pay a "girl" to collect R from kindergarten and look after him while she worked.
