Is Ruauri still a Donovan, or is he now an Aldridge? I cannot believe that Brian would be happy for his son to have someone else's name.
Has it been discussed and I missed it? I presume that it would have been decided before he went to the school?

He's still a Donovan on the Characters list, thus adding to the rich mix that is or has been Alridge, Macy, Travers, Gerrard, or whatever. Did Adam take Ian's name btw?

Or did Ian take Adam's? How does it work with civil unions?
As with any unions, it's up to the partners. I like the doubled name idea some of my friends have used.
Is Phoebe still Phoebe Aldridge, for example....?
Or Carter?
Aargh, that /would/ be perverse. Of course, I meant Tucker.
Well yes, I would have thought Roy would take it that his daughter would use his surname (whatever name was used in the Lakey Hill naming ceremony) but not aware of it being mentioned whilst i was stgill listening....
(as for a possible Carter connection, now there IS a thought....!)
How about Debbie Macy/Travers-Macy/Aldrige/Archer/Gerrard? I may have missed a couple.
Sorry, but when was she Archer?

She wasn't.
Travers-Macy, Macy, Aldridge, Gerrard, Travers-Macy, Aldridge.
Allegedly. We didn't hear all this on air.
Quite - now forgive me Rosie but wasn't it Adam who decided to call himself Macy whilst Debbie went straight from Travers-Macy to Aldridge? Ironic as it was Debbie not Adam who was related to Roger biologically...

It was the 2 after Gerrard that I take issue with...
Debbie decided on 'Aldridge' after the Roger/Jennifer affair following her 21st birthday, I do know that.
I am pretty sure both Debbie and Adam were aka Macy, after Roger refused Brian permission to adopt the pair. Archers Anachists had a running joke that she had the distinction of being the only person in th village with 3 names (forgetting Adam had been nee Archer, adopted Travers-Macy, then known as Macy).
Debbie seems to have spent her time defining herself in opposition to the current man out of favour. It'll be interesting to see what she calls herself if she wants to show she's positively committed to a long-term liaison with Mr (??errrm??), you know, the new one. ....

Marshall Latham of Hitchin.
Thank you, Rosie. Rich in possibilities then.

A very sharp and potent point, Elnora. Thanks for drawing attention to it.
