I'm sure this has been a perennial enquiry over the years, but are there any good/comprehensive sources of Archers history - other than the splendid stuff in ML?
Best of all would be the entire archive, so that saddoes like me could spend the rest of their days on one mammoth Listen Again...probably unfeasible, given the time involved but maybe something cut down to make it more manageable?
Ambridge Abridged, perhaps?

Some wretched soul*, (not me, honest) once worked out that it would take nearly five months - without sleep - to listen to the entire Archers back catalogue.
This was based on a standard thirteen minute episode - and I'm sure I remember reading that they used to be longer.
I wonder how much of it the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú have actually kept?
*Same wretched soul once told me that she had spent more of her life listening to the Archers than she had spent on the toilet.
I can't understand why they don't start running it, from whenever they have a continuous supply of recordings, on R7.

May I just thank you for saying 'Boxed set'..
posh, fed up with 'Box set' [unless, of course, it is a set of boxes].
or a typo for 'box seat'.
I found out recently that what I always thought was called a "stretch limo" (or "chavmobile" a/c to Christiferr) is actually called a "stretched limo".

posh, fed up with 'Box set'Â
posh, I think it matters whether or not the box itself is part of the set. Four videotapes in a plain box is a "boxed set", while four videotapes in a box covered with images and having a fold-out trivia section might more accurately be referred to as a "box set".

Posh, you are Dr Seuss and claim my five pounds.
I think that Mr Keri answered this query some time ago and said that it would be too difficult to contact all the people who have appeared in TA over the years and therefore it was not practical to repeat the old tapes on R7. I can't remember if they had to ask permission or whether it was so that they could pay the appropriate fees.
Miserable skinflints!
Could they not operate a 'Lottery-style' system, whereby actors could contact them and say: "I was Dolly Treadgold and I claim my five pounds"?
Meanwhile, the 'silents' could silently fume at the injustice...
>I can't remember if they had to ask permission or whether it was so that they could pay the appropriate fees.
Fees.

Do radio performers not have an equivalent of the MCPS, then, who will take fees and hold them in trust until then performer or their estate claim them?
No, it all has to be done by individual negotiation. We have to make all reasonable efforts to find the next of kin.
It can be a nightmare.
