Is it possible to have a search engine for this MB? It would make life so much easier.
message 1
You can search messages by keyword, by pressing CTRL plus F.
This brings you a search box. If you (before bringing up the search box) add
&show=200
to the address bar, this makes it quicker.

Do you mean the search box which allows me to search words on the page, rosiet? That's good but it doesn't let me search within the threads, does it? I can only search the titles?
Thanks for the 200 tip. That's very useful.

Carbonella, the starch facility broke back in 2002 when the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú bought the DNA system, and we're still waiting for them to fix it. It was broken three years before TA messageboards moved onto the system.

Starch?
Search.
Stuff on Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú messageboards shows up on big search engines. That's no good if you want to track down a thread with a mundane title, but is useful if you have a particular combination of an unusual nickname and topic.

Which search engines do you use, Sunny? The Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú use META-tags and ROBOTS.TXT files to prevent the boards and communities from being crawled. There was a period of less than a month a few years back when they forgot, and those results are still visible, plus they deliberately "seed" search engines with "Edited Guide" articles from h2g2. Anything beyond all that, though, is a sign the search engine isn't playing by the rules.

I just put "serafina the virgo witch" into Google, which is the only search engine that I ever use, and nothing came up. It offered me the results without the quotes of course, but they are irrelevant.

I tried "chicken abusing liar" a few years ago and was most satisfied.

In Google, at least, that gets you:
No results found for "chicken abusing liar".

Thanks, Pett. It seems the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú doesn't think that a search engine is a good idea then.
