Could someone please take me through step by step on how to quote from someone else's message when replying to it? I tried to follow the instructions but no cursor appeared when I clicked at the beginning of the bit I wanted to quote. Sorry if I appear a bit dim but I'm new and would welcome a bit of help.

Copy the text you want to quote. Then write this:
< quote>Insert your copied text here.< /quote>
Except you must remove the space after the <. I have to do it that way or the codes don't show up.

Alternately, if you use the Firefox or Opera browsers, get the "Greasemonkey" plug-in and download the "all-in-one" script from this page:
Amongst other things, it adds buttons below the posting windows that allow you to highlight the text you want to quote and insert it with a single click.

Yes, I use it myself and it's great. It also lets you 'subscribe' to threads you're interested in so that you can catch up reading where you left off.

Thanks for your reply GuateJanie, but I can't even get as far as copying the text. Usually, to copy text, I left-click at the beginning of the text I want to copy and the cursor moves to that point. Then I hold down the caps lock key, use the right pointing arrow to highlight the text I want to include and press Control and C to copy. However, the problem is when I left-click no cursor appears........Aha! I have just tried left-clicking and dragging and it has highlighted the text so it seems I don't need the cursor. I should be OK now, thank you.
