Does anyone remember a character by the name of Coppie Tredwell in the 60s or the 70s? I have a recollection that he was not an actual character but a mythical one that Ned Larkin would refer to when he wanted to tell some outrageous anecdote. I seem to recall Ned saying something along the lines of "As my old mate Coppie would say..." and then launching into an anecdote. Am I right in my recollection?

Dolly Treadgold was Eddie's girlfriend at one time but I can't recall the character you're thinking of.
Eddie's girlfriend? A bit more that that, Reggie, they were engaged in 1979.
I certainly recall Ned Larkin recounting tales of a character he knew and Coppy Treadwell sounds about right.
Oh yes, Ned Larkin died in 1967, so it wouldn't have been in the 70s.
