Mr K could we have a little more detail about the Bridge Farm purchase, please? For instance whether thay are forming a limited company which will pay the mortgage, and how the profits are then divided up between pat & Tony, Helen and Tom, and so on.

    Thanks!

Sorry. Your question assumes that the purchase will be going ahead, and as that's a future storyline I can (getting all governmental) neither confirm not deny it.

Oh. You'd think they'd have discussed how they were going to do it, though, wouldn't you? Rather than say 'let's buy the farm and then we'll work out how we sort out the financial ins and outs'.

I'm just keen to know how the four of them sort things out financially, that's all. Sad I know.

Ermintrude, I kinda think thats how all the trouble started didn't it. Let's all buy and worry about where the money will come from later!! I bet, though, that Peggy will step in and help with the purchase, after all, she and Jack are loaded, aren't they??

More interestingly, I bet that Tom thinks this... But with Jeck and Peggoi both suddenly too frail to look after themselves they will end up with a suite in a high-end care home and the whole fortune will suddenly evaporate, leaving all the family members who were secretly relying on a handout from Peggoi's will in the lurch.

Well, we can dream... smiley - winkeye

... and the whole fortune will suddenly evaporate

I'm still wondering what will happen if Peggy predeceases Jack and whether Jack's Estate will default to (née) Archers.

Assuming that Jack will take care of his widow's needs is one thing but whether he feels similarly well disposed to her children and grandchildren is another matter - or, to put it more accurately, what he wanted at the time he made his Will.

Were Peggy to die first, that would put Peggy's family on the same legal footing as Hazel in relationship terms and maybe Hazel would contest Jack's Will if she felt she had been sidelined.
