Please remind me how the Grundys have a turkey shed.

    (i) Grundys run Grange Farm (plenty of sheds).

(ii)Grundys get evicted and end up at Meadow Rise.

(iii) Thanks to generosity of Jack Woolley the Grundys return to live in Keepers Cottage.

(iv) They get a bit of land (can't remember how)- is this where Posh Spice and Ginger Spice were kept or is that earlier?

But no outbuildings to speak of, so whence the turkey shed?

Bob, my recollection is that they bought about seven acres with a windfall they got that was something to do with the Grange farm milk quota.

When they decided to put up a prefabricated building Linda kick up a huge fuss and they discovered that they had to have planning permission as their land didn't constitute a farm. David stepped in and offered to rent them an extra three (?) acres which made their holding of a sufficient size not to need planning permission and the shed went up.

NB my memory is not what it was, as can be seen from some other recent N&Q threads, so I may have this completely wrong.

The turkey shed is the same building as the (oft referred to) cider shed, I expect and may (or may not) be the same as the pole barn.

They keep the turkeys in the pole barn, which is kitted out with temporary straw bale walls.

There is a separate multipurpose (including cider) shed, in which they pluck the turkeys and a shipping container (also used for cider storage) in which they are hung before drawing. That takes place in the the kitchen at Keeper's Cottage.

(Grundys' Field is 3.4 acres by the way)

    Hope that helps.
