Don't know what's involved but it would be a great improvment if web links posted on these boards opened in a new window . . .

Or right click, the menu gives you the option to do so.

If you design a website using RNIB (or similar) accessibility guidelines, they specifically tell you that weblinks have to not open in a new window. My own company's website has to, and I suspect the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú were advised the same.

I prefer to have links in new windows, but there we are.

You all seem to know what you're talking about technically so please may I ask your advice?
I've been here for years and every so often the board doesn't recognise me, by which time I've forgotten my password so I start all over again. I've had three user names and they're stored somewhere because I can't use them again because 'someone already uses the name'.

The question is, I did keep a link in my discussions so that I could delete my messages. Was it ACE or something to the H2g thingy? Not at all technical as you've no doubt guessed and think I'm doing pretty well to get this far and am much disheartened. I have kept a note of present password!

Instructions on deleting messages are in the FAQs under 'How to...'.

For future reference, you can find the FAQs by clicking on 'FAQs and Info' at the bottom of the menu on the left of this page, and then on 'Message board FAQs' from the menu at the top right of that page.

Definitely a good idea to keep a note of your passwords, as I've learned from experience.

Also, laughingDeborah, if the board doesn't recognise you don't be too quick to assume it's your fault. It's not an uncommon occurrence for the "Single Sign-on" system to break down and forget everybody - just leave it for an hour or two and then try again. Creating a new account immediately just adds to the overall confusion...
