One thing I've realised from reading all the info about the Archers is that Peggy was once married to Phil's brother ... Why isn't more made of their in-lawishness, esp. considering all the heartache recently with the Jack situation??? It seems to me that Phil never ever speaks to or of Peggy, yet they are the same generation and were once so closely connected ... Have I missed something?? (only been listening for 6 yrs and a newbie on the noticebds!!)

Phil may not be on record speaking to her but I remember Jill paying her a least one sister(in-law)ly visit recently.

Good point, MollyHil, they're not close are they?
I can't remember any specific incident but I suspect that Jack and Phil didn't get on.
It was all a little before my listening time (Jack died in 1972 I think).
Phil probably thinks all that sort of thing is women's work.

Bearing in mind the person who links them (Jack A) died over 37 years ago I think it is hardly surprising that Phil isn't popping round to see Peggy constantly.
There certainly used to be close. And their offspring (and offspring's offspring) are pretty close
I suspect that any apparent cooling is down to the actors' fitness.
Why should he care more about his sister-in-law than he does about his own sister?
Peggy at one time said she had a soft spot for Kenton because he reminded her of her first Jack.
This wore a little thin when he had a table of hers French-polished in 1991, which she had appreciated because it had developed a patina, and the scuff marks fired her imagination about its possible history.
(Doesn't sound much like the Peggy that the sw's have since created....)
These days, Phil is only wheeled on for comedic blundering storylines (hoover, marmalade) or to sympathise with David over something inconsequential, so it would be unlikely that they'd put him in a scene with Peggy.
