Brian's references to Pat's cooking got me wondering about vegetarianism in Ambridge. I don't think any of the Bridge farm Archers are vegetarian and the only ones I could think of were Kate and possibly Elizabeth briefly in her youth.
Can anyone tell me if there are any current practicing vegetarians in the village?

Usha and Amy, Reggie (remember the parsnip lasagna?). Elizabeth definitely was a teen veggie, and proselytised appropriate recipes, in her usual authoritative manner.

Amy of course, thanks both. I don't think Usha is actually a vegetarian though. I think I remember her telling Richard, when he moved in with her, that there were certain times she couldn't eat meat for religious reasons. Implying that she did eat it at other times.
Venetia was vegetarian, at least when she came to the Carters (I can't remember whether that meal was called tea, dinner or supper).
Lucy was vegetarian, then she married a sheep farmer.
Generally in Ambridge it's just a form of teenage gir rebellion that they grow out of.

That's true, innit. Didn't Lucy become a vegan, drain someones milk tanker and join the Borchester Hunt Saboteurs?
I was rather bemused by all the references to lentils etc. As far as I know there are no human vegetarians at Bridge Farm. I did wonder whether the SWs were confusing being organic with being vegetarian.
No, but I'm sure Pat tends to a "wholefoods" style of cooking.
(And Usha is 100 per cent vegetarian, btw)
No wonder the vicar is so thin...
