I seem to recall that Alan was left his motorbike by a parishioner. Were we ever told its make?
I don't think so.
At the time that he got it (must be a few years ago now) I seem to recall there were attempts in ML to identify it by its sound.

Do we know how old it is? I can't remember when they stopped making Nortons.
The last 'old Norton' was made in 1977, but the company was bought out & now there are 'new' ones.

Are there? I know that is the case with Triumphs (I ride one) but was not aware of new Nortons.
No, we have never specified on air. But it's not a British bike. The sound effects we use are of a Japanese one.

Thanks. No doubt someone who knows Japanese bikes will identify its sound the next time it's heard.
I googled Norton Motorbikes, & it talks of a new Norton Commando....that's all!

The new Norton is made in India and when "Bike" magazine reviewed it in the last couple of months they were underwhelmed by the build and component quality ...
RBTVOA's bike must be getting on a bit by now. If he's been riding it through the winter and not been regularly cleaning and greasing the chain, he'll be in the ditch again very soon!
Personal experience? Moi?

That's a shame. I hoped that someone like John Bloor would have taken it on.

Everyone knows that the Reverend Bunter put his black leathers on and takes good care of his helmet when mounting his Indian. (It is a vintage make of motorcycle, honest.)
Snork.
Is this make of bike American?

The Indian is the preferred mount when riding on the Wall of Death.
(Thought you'd like to know that...)
