Used to be a regular listener..but have missed several months.(due to re-marriage , honeymoon etc) What on earth has happened between shula and usha and when? get tantalising clues but not the full story.

    1. A long time ago Shula had an affair with Usha's partner (Richard Locke aka "Dr Death").

    2. When Alan and Usha decide to get married Shula is appalled but she only reveals this to her mum and Alistair.

    3. Reporter from Borchester Echo visits Ambridge. Susan tells him that "it's not right" (for vicar to marry Hindu etc). Shula toes the party line and says all the congregation support Alan and Usha but at the end she lets slip there have been letters of complaint.

    4. Alan and Usha identify Shula as having spoken to reporter (because of mention of letters) and they blame her for the story. Usha storms round to the stables and calls Shula a "middle class racist". (Hooray!)

    5. Shula resigns as churchwarden.

    6. Shula finds Hindu statue in vicar's sitting room and throws a wobbly. Then decides she can never darken St Stephen's porch again ...
