which entry on the timeline is right?
Tue, 10 Feb 2009 11:09 GMT
On the timeline it says that
Susan Carter won a pig at the village fete.Â
in 1983, and
Susan Horrobin told Neil Carter she was pregnant....Susan Horrobin married Neil Carter, 25 Feb.Â
in 1984.
Why?

Neil helped her look after Pinky the pig in her back garden, he was nice to her, they went away to London for a weekend, she became pregnant, Bert horrobin tried to disown her, and they decided to get married.
I'm not sure what the problem is?

The sequence: she is a Carter in *1983* and yet still an Horrobin (until her marriage) in *1984*.

The writer of this timeline is not a feminist, you mean, and wrongly called her Carter, instead of her real name, Horrobin?

Presumably used Carter for the correct Horrobin so newer listeners would realise who they mean

Ah! That would be an economical mattter!

Hi Rosie
I don't think that it has anything to do with feminism, just that the timeline writer missed that she was still a Horrobin /not/ a Carter in 1983. It's just a detail and of no great consequence, but some of us like the details to be correct.

Yes, she was Susan Horrobin when she won the pig. I'll get it changed.
