Very strange. Is there anyone else in the house who uses the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú boards? Could you be logged in as that person by mistake?

Katie, it's something to do with the script not the Beeb. You're subscribed to threads in DtA (or summat, I don't actually use the script myself).

Jont's instruction will tell you how to unsubscribe if you don't know what to do. You will then have to delete the threads that you don't want to keep.

The Flea is right, Katie, it's having the Script installed rather than a problem with the Beeb site. Whilst logged on and looking at the bog roll, you've probably inadvertently subscribed to all (it's happened to others as well, the internal fan on my laptop blasted and suddenly I was subscribed to everything).

There's a green subscribe and a red unsubscribe link directly above the Latest Reply column, and you'll probably need to check the discussions you don't want and then use unsubscrib-o-matic to delete them.

There is a thread started by Norma in TB about this only last Thursday, the most recent reply being yesterday. It's got 59 replies and I won't post a link here because several of the replies are not directly about the same techy problem as you're experiencing.

Good luck ... so much of my learning curve has been the result of chance errors that I know exactly what you're talking about smiley - winkeye

I think I know the thread you mean, KentishKelt. I asked jont some things there.

But katie says <>. Would an "extra" subscription cause her existing discussions to disappear like that?

    That's the one!

What Katy will probably have to do is to look at the left hand column on her discussion page and select for deletion those theads on which she has not posted.

With the Script installed, the left hand column gives:

    1st line: Thread title link
2nd line: from (MB area link) in (MB name link)
3rd line: 'Last contribution' (link to your most recent post) but no text appears here if you haven't posted on the thread
4th line: check box labelled 'Select for unsubscribing'

In fact, the only real difference is the addition of the 4th line, the first three rows are identical to how the discussion page appears in IE.

My guess is that the threads she's posted on are embedded in all the threads and aren't very obvious (apologies, Katie, if I seem to be ignoring you: I do know your exist but I'm replying directly to Mad.Curious.Cat smiley - winkeye

thanks to all of you - Flea and KK as well - for trying to help ... wasn't able to get back online earlier to respond ... as for deleting each post that isn't mine, well, i think it would be easier to just unsubscribe and restart ... reason is that i think there's some sort of glitch in the system because i seem to get just about every DTA post tacked onto my 'your discussion' ... i'm mainly a lurker and only post occasionally, and usually in TB and no one but me uses this computer ... i wonder if there's another katie or someone with a similar name who's recently subcribed to the script ... hmmm, i think i should try to get help from jont or achilles in TB ... also i'll check the thread in TB you mentioned KK ... thanks all!
