Is the mothers' and toddlers' thing the same thing as the playgroup?
No - it shouldn't be. I work at a playgroup in the morning and in the afternoon I am responsible for a mother and toddler group which uses that playgroup's equipment. A playgroup like ours has children there (learning through play) two and a half year old until five (but they mostly stay about a year and then go onto nursery school in our area). The mother and toddler group requires that the parent stays with their child/ren and play using the facilities. The playgroup requires parents to leave the child/ren there and come back later when they've had fun (the child/ren) and the parents have had a break. I don't know how the Ambridge M/T group runs or how it is funded - probably on fresh air.
