I don't know if you are allowed to tell us this Mr Keri, but...
Synopsis of 16/10/08 reports
Synopsis:
Alan and Usha will spend their first Diwali as man and wife in Wolverhampton. Ruth’s pleased that Usha’s family are so relaxed about Alan now. Having seen Annabelle looking sensational while out training, Usha’s bought some state-of-the-art running shoes and intends to run the full Felpersham marathon next March.
We seem to have gone past this date, can you divulge the actual marathon date please, some of us on *gasp* another (running) website are tracking Usha's training regime.

The Felphersham marathon is a bit like Zeno's tortoise ... however close it seems to be getting there will always be several more days of training to be done.

Did she actually specify March 2009, though?
I Think We Should be Told.

I have just checked the Felpersham Marathon website and yes, it was last sunday.
I htink Usha has missed it - she must have got the date mixed up.
I wonder how Annabel did?

This looks like a forgotten fred where I can practice my posting undisturbed.
Usha is in the final week of training, having done her long run last weekend so the marathon must be next weekend, therefore she has got into the 'London'. That's not easy to do, I've tried many times and only managed once. To get in at her first attempt is something to celebrate in itself. A lot of people get into the London by sponsorship and raising lots of money for charity, the London is very keen on this sort of thing and many people think that if your not raising money for something or other, you don't stand a chance of getting in. Probably the Ambridge fairy has had something to do about this.

Well. she thinks she is running in the Felpersham marathon.
Pity it was three weeks ago - in March.

And Annabel has it wrong as well!
They'll just have to jog round the course on their own with Alan, on his trusty, rusty bike, firing the starting gun, manning the feeding stations, course marshalling, judging on the finishing line, then prizegiving, short speech and still be done in time to take morning service.
It is the Felpersham marathon, not London. The date was moved.
btw Mrs Keri will be running in the London marathon this year (having applied for five consecutive years), as will Archers producer Kate Oates. I'm going to write a little article about their exploits, and how they've informed the storyline, this week.

The date was moved.Â
When was it moved, please? I don't remember hearing it on air.
Hope they have fun in the London Marathon.
Thanks for the update Mr K, and good luck to Mrs K and Kate- I will await the article with interest.
Ferret (who is expecting a fourth rejection from London this year)

It was by implication. That is, we didn't have anyone saying on air "the date has been changed"; the characters just started working to the new date.
>Hope they have fun in the London Marathon.
Thanks, although I'm not sure that "fun" is the word!
i hope that ms oates is dressing up as a chicken or as a faberge egg.
well if it's good enough for the characters in the drama ........

... or perhaps something a bit more imaginative like a five bar gate or a silage clamp?

OK Keri, I'm still a new boy so send me to the back of the class if you have to but this does sound like:
'Well we made a bit of a mistake and got mixed up with the London because Mrs K and Kate Oates are doing that one in RL so we've decided, in retrospect, to say the date was postponed - by implication.'
whooooops!
Still good luck to Mrs K and Kate, tell them to start slower than they mean to and don't be bothered by the crowds of runners, you can burn up a lot of energy dodging them, have you been accompanying Mrs K on a bike by any chance?

Good point, he does cycle, but has a better version than the 20 year old one that's been hawked around with Alan Franks all his life.

Blimey - I imagine we can expect an extended Keri absence as he ministers unto blistered and aching Mrs K and an extended TA lull as Miss Kate recovers.
Mr K - I imagine it's against board etiquette, but are we allowed to know for whom/what they are running (if at all - charity, not running, ovviously) and whether we can sponsor* them?
*Lady M - already done her sponsoring bit, but feeling a bit generous post vino.
I have been supporting Mrs K in oh-so-many ways, but when she goes off for her runs she's on her own.

It's against Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú policy to link to fundraising sites, but here's an article about their endeavours, and how the on-air story developed:
