what has happened to jack, is he no longer with us or in a home ?

I assume you mean Jack Wooley [who married Peggy Archer]. He's still at home.
Jack Archer, Peggy's previous husband, died decades ago.

I'm guessing you mean Peggy's second husband Jack Woolley. His dementia was hard for Peggy to cope with alone but now they manage with him having a carer in the house and sessions at a day centre. Plus some support from her family of course. BB

I smiled when Helen said that Jack did not do well when there were strangers around.
But how would he know? He forgot who Helen was last time she visited.
