Do we know whose choice it was to name the Snell daughters Leonie and Coriander? Was it Robert or his ex-wife, who is called Bobo, of all things, according to the Characters page?
Robert seems a sensible chap, so presumably it wasn't his choice to give these weird names to his daughters?
My other question is: are both daughters silents?
Thank you.

Both Leonie and Coriander have spoken (on air). I think the names are rather nice: not weird at all!
Really?! My apologies then. Hope I didn't offend anyone! I kind of assumed that these were names like the ones celebrities give to their daughters (Apple, Moon Unit and so on), and thought the script writers were trying to give us a glimpse of the parents' characters.

MCC, you haven't offended me (I don't know any Leonies or Corianders) - I just happen to like these names.

Coriander certainly falls in the "New Age" category of using herbs and so on. But Leonie is a very old name - feminine of Leon.
I like them both too.
Thanks, mike.

My sister lived next door to a Leonie. There was a Corrie, short for Coriander, in the school in which I taught, a male.
I don't think we've ever specified whose choice the names were, although we know that Coriander was named after the key ingredient in the meal that the parents had eaten when she was conceived.
(Possibly too much info there)
And neither are silents.
Did the Snells stay in one of Jennifer's holiday cottages before moving to Ambridge? I recall Jennifer commenting about a child called Coriander at one time.
