I am asking this because they often seem to be strangely worded.
For example last week 'Should Tom and Brenda get back together?' Well it isn't really a question of 'should' is it? Is it really asking us 'Would you like to see Tom and Brenda get back together?'?
This week 'Did Annabelle deserve Usha's help in the marathon?'. Well Annabelle really hasn't done anything to 'deserve' Usha's help has she? Does it really mean 'Do you think Usha was right to help Annabelle?'?
Is it just me????

You have posed valid alternative questions (which you may prefer to answer) but they are actually asking quite different things. It seems to me that the first question is actually asking about what the attitude of the characters should be, i.e. should one of them make an effort to repair the relationship. I would answer yes to this from the viewpoint of the characters, because if they are going to breakup it should be for a sensible reason. OTOH, personally I would not want to see them back together so I would answer "no" to your version of the question.
As to the second question, the original seems to be seeking for listeners attitudes to Annabel, whereas yours is asking is it right to stop and help someone. I would answer yes to both but your version seens much more loaded towards getting the answer "yes".

I take your point Mike, and these two were not amongst the most obscure questions we have had in recent months. I guess that what you are saying is that we are not being asked to comment purely from a listener's perspective but from a plot line perspective.
