I've used a wheelchair for 40 years (hit and run Christmas eve 1968. And I would love to try it out as in 1977 I cteated Brutain's first film scoirty for disabled people The Friends of the Grange film scoiety is affillrated to the British Fedaration of Film Scoirtys 81 Dean street London W1. So I THINK i'M QUALIFED
it ought to be wheelchair accessible really.
I'm not sure if there's been anyone involved in a storyline with a wheelchair since I've been listening (only about 18 years now).

Didn't Jim (Al's dad) have temporary problems with accessibility; indeed, even using a wheelchair? And, if so, did he visit The Bull during his merry Christmas visit to Ambridge?

Flea Flea ' You must wait ....
Many apologies to bulekingfisher. I didn't mean Jim's Christmas to refer back insensitively to your accident. Posted without close reading.

Hello bulekingfisher. I don't know if the Bull is wheelchair accessible, as there isn't a regular character in the Archers who uses one. I do know that the Bull in the programme is based on a real pub, the Old Bull at Inkberrow in Worcestershire. It's a centuries old building and as you know, these are often very difficult to adapt.
Did you know that one of the characters in the Archers set up 'Flicks in the Sticks' and showed films in the village hall? This building definitely is wheelchair accessible. For the millenium the toilets there were rebuilt and an access ramp installed. BB
