I have just read a book called 'The Archers of Ambridge' published in 1954. Can anyone tell me if the businessman, Henry Crawford - "Trade was nectar and ambrosia to him" - is any relation to Matt?

This was asked, when Matt arrived in Ambridge, and Keri said he was no relation.
[welcome]
I thought he was in "Mansfield Park".
Ah, yes, but a descendant of his turned up in Ambridge:
"Mr. Crawford was an industrialist and owner of the mineral rights on land belonging to George fairbrother and Squire Lawson-Hope. Fairbrother invited him to Ambridge nin 1951 to enlist support for his plans to mine ironstone (to which there was much opposition in the village) but Crawford fell in love with the village and refused to co-operate, so the scheme fell by the wayside." Ambridge, the Fanny Price of villages....
Snork! Thanks, Rosie.
