Driving home this afternoon I saw a digger working on some ditches. Does Eddie still have his machine, or was it pawned some time ago?

He still does. He offered to dig the ditches for Tony's filtration system, but was told that the job needed a digger with tracks, while Eddie's only had wheels.
Thanks very much for your response. I am sure however that when it originally featured the sound effects were those of tracks?

I'm pretty sure the original "dancing diggers" had to have wheels, else they couldn't have done the moves described on the village green...?

Of course diggers with tracks can dance - they will just be a bit slower, that is all! (I do hope you were not making a trackist comment!)
Tracks or wheels, I am sure that the insurance for the digger and any work it undertakes must be very high. However, I have never heard anybody ask if Eddie is insured. They probably know the answer. Likewise, Joe and Bartleby, no insurance there either is my guess.
