So if they take the vote on Adam's proposal and it's half & half, then is it a conflict of interest for Brian to have the casting vote?

When Matt was Chair, Brian was often sent out the room when it was a Home Farm matter, since he wasn't allowed to vote.

Although the decision on who gets the farming contract would be decided by the board in Brian's absence I don't think that the board would vote on the cropping plan. This would just be left to the director with immediate responsibility for farming and/or the chairman (and both of these are Brian, I guess).

Something like the cropping plan would be given to the board as part of a report on farming activities and any director could raise it as an issue if they wanted to (but I don't think they would).
