I'd be interested to know the circumstances under which she left Radio Borsetshire - and also if we know very much about this multimedia journalism course she's taking..
I'm rather assuming the way the scriptwriters will play it is that she'll either find it impossible to find a job even if she is qualified (given the present state of the media industry), or, alternatively, they'll conveniently choose to ignore all of that and everything "will be fine."
Am three weeks behind on the podcasts at the moment, so I expect the wedding's been called off by now anyway...
(Feel free to point me towards a nice detailed, history of The Archers book (or website, possibly), if there is such a thing - I went from the late 90s to around 2005/06 without listening. Keri's annual book is nice but the character profiles are kind of brief.)
Thanks,
William
Hello William, I'm not sure if you've caught up with the podcasts yet but at some stage you'll hear the episode where Brenda learns that she gained a 2:1. However she changed her course after Betty died, she stopped studying journalism down south and came home to study marketing instead. This is mentioned in her entry under 'characters' in the list on the left.
I'm sure others will be able to point you to external links for a history of what happened when you weren't listening but you might find the 'timeline' useful too. Here is the link
Hope you find this of some help. Cheers. BB
Brenda left the radio station because she was under the misaprehension that James Bellamy (with whom she was having a fling) had said he would be able to get her a job in London. She had some sort of petty squabble at work, and did a Tucker flounce and handed in her notice.
Thanks both of you..
