Is it correct as I read elsewhere that Jack sold Grey Gables for £8m! If so in what possible way can Peggy have any sort of financial crisis.

In addition to the £8m he received from the sale of Grey Gables Jack also sold a number of other properties which brought in a tidy sum. When he first arrived in Ambridge he was known to be a millionnaire and with shrewd investment his wealth must have increased over the years. I have never been able to buy the idea that Jack and Peggy are in any sort of financial difficulty and have often speculated as to what will happen when Jack eventually leaves the land of the living. Peggy is bound to receive at least half of his estate (with perhaps Hazel getting the other half) which will mean that Jennifer, Lilian and Tony - and their dependants - will be heirs to a very substantial sum of money. It will be most interesting to see how the Production Team decide to handle this.
I would be amazed if Hazel inherited anything: when Peggy paid her off, it was under the clear understanding that she would not get any more.
The only likely way in which Hazel might inherit is if Jack's will fails, e.g. if the residuary beneficiary is Peggy, she has already died and the will does not say what is to happen in this case: were this to happen, the intestacy rules would kick in.
No, Jack told Peggy he was still going to leave Hazel what he'd always intended to leave her. But didn't specify what that was.
(Peggy paying Hazel off wasn't legal, was it?)
I don't think that this is right: I may be wrong, but my recollection is that Jack changed his will in the light of Hazel's actions.
There was nothing illegal about what Peggy did. Whether it was well-advised is another matter.

I think the whole point of what Peggy did was to prevent Jack from finding out how cruel and callous Hazel was. She had always been the apple of his eye and she did not wish to destroy his illusions. So he would have had no reason to alter his will and as far as I can remember he never did. What we don't yet know of course is how much of Jack's estate will eventually find its way to Hazel.
No, he refused to change his will. Now of course he wouldn't be able to.
Of course Peggy could legally give Hazel money, but it wouldn't be legally binding. In real life I think Hazel would have been back by now.

I doubt it. Once Hazel realised that Jack was of unsound mind there would be no point in her wasting time and money on coming to see him. All she has to do is wait and see how much her eventual inheritance is.
Oh I thought if you paid people to go away they'd come back. (As with Dane-geld.)

Jack told Peggy that she (and not Hazel) would get get GG (subsequently it was sold so presumably she will get the cash equivalent.
