Since log in shake up some time ago like many I've had to re register. I've managed to get my old name back but have new signing in name. I am unable to delete my discussions in h2o2 as it does not seem to accept my new log in details when I try to log in. I can still get on h2o2 using my old pass words etc but those discussions have long been deleted. How can I get my current ones deleted? Thanks.
PS when I'm signed on here and then go over to h2g2 I am automatically signed in there but my old name appears at the top and not my present one. Very confusing!
I have now registered with h2g2 using the exact same details as here (even responded to email to validate it). But I still can't access my conversations made here to delete. I am having a nice chat here with myself. Johnny no mates moi!

Ah, don't despair, everybody is busy just now, but I am sure someone will come along and help you soonish.
What I don't understand is your msg 1 where you say :
>>I've managed to get my old name back but have new signing in name<<
What is the difference between the two?
When I re-registered I used my old name 'aliencorrie' as before but I decided on a new password.
So now when I am signed into this messageboard and I open h2g2 I have to sign in again, using my name and my o l d password, but then I can proceed and delete all my current posts.

Is this the difference between your display name and your user name?
I'm not familiar with h2o2 but if no one else can help, I'll look into it with the tech team.

I had that problem when I registered this new name(before I realised I needn't have done)
Get the first page of the discussion.. not just your entry..
At the top of the screen in the normal address bar ..read along until you find
F
add
SB
(reads as FSB )
then at end of address add
&cmd=unsubscribethread
then hit the ""send"" symbol.
check your discussion.
Thanks to I think it was Lilith who explained in words of one syllable
I've also found the way to "subscribe" without actually writing anything if there's something you want to keep
it's the same as the unsubscribe but omit the " un "
Thanks LibrarianRian - that worked a treat but it did take a long time. What an amazing discovery, how do people work these formulas out?
My USER name is PooLagoon and it was also my board nickname for a while when I had to re-register during the 'shake up' a while back and was unable to use BlueLagoon (oh the shame!!). Some how though I was able to get BL back as my nick name.
I still don't know how to get onto h2g2 with my new log in details as none of my discussions appear there now?

Thanks aliencorrie, do you mean you put in your old username and password the one you had before the shake up? Thanks.
h2g2 works on the old system. If the details are same on new system i.e if you read the instructions properly.. it works the same.
If you, like me, totally misunderstood and had to get a 'new' name it won't work on h2g2.
I think.

Thanks Honeysuckle - In the 'olden' days when I was logged on here to this MB and then went over to h2g2 I was already logged on there too. Now I have to register there using my new details but still can't access my conversations. I can also log on using my old details but that doesn't help at all.

OH....
Some thing's going on!
I didn't have to sign into h2g2 with my old password today, obviously they automatically had me signed in when I signed into ML!!

BlueLagoon, try again. A couple of people have reported over the past couple of days that they are able to delete discussions in h2g2 again, so I guess the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú has now deleted all the obsolete accounts.
'Ö'
Thanks Leaping Badger - I just popped over to H2G2 and sure enough I was automatically logged on there too (previously I was asked to log on there even though I was already logged in via this TA site). Therefore I was able to finally click onto my conversations and sure enough there they all were ready for me to delete! Funny old glitch it must have been for Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú to sort out.
