Does anyone out there know the name of the actor who played the Vicar of Ambridge in the very earliest episodes?
I ask because I was at school with his son and, through him, obtained the autographs of the original cast - Harry Oakes, Gwen Berryman, Bob Arnold, etc. Unfortunately the signature of "The Vicar" is the only one I cannot decipher in my very old autograph book.
Thanks, in anticipation of your help.

Harry Stubbs played the part of the Vicar of Ambridge (Rev. John Ridley) when the programme began in 1951. He continued in this role until 1961 when a replacement Vicar (Rev. David Wreford played by John Carlin) took his place.

Re: Search for a Vicar
Thank you taddydogman for your prompt reply.
The signature is, indeed, that of Harry Stubbs.
